Tyler Perry becomes a billionaire

When it comes to movie production, directing, writing and acting Tyler Perry is a popular name in the industry. In 2020,Tyler Perry has successfully made it to the league of Billionaires.
Tyler Perry was listed as the highest paid man in entertainment by Forbes between May 2010 to May 2011.

From playing Madea(an elderly tough woman) to producing the controversial blockbuster “ACRIMONY” in 2018. Despite his difficult childhood and facing years of abuse, Tyler worked towards finding his true passion after years of working in a series of unfulfilling jobs.

Tyler Perry’s journey towards movie production began when he started writing letters to himself. The letters became the basis for the musical “I know I’ve been changed”.

While the show tackled tough issues on abuse, it also emphasized forgiveness. Tyler Perry had gone ahead to save 12,000 dollars which he used to debut the show which he produced, directed and starred in. The show had brought in a measly 30 people.


Tyler Perry continued to persevere and never gave up, in 1988 his breakthrough had come. He sold out his shows and went on further to produce more movies like Diary of a mad black woman-2001, Madea family reunion-2020, Big happy family and also Family reunion.
In October 2019 the entertainment super star announced the opening of the $250 million Tyler Perry Studios on the site of a former 330-acre Confederate military base in Atlanta.
Now in 2020, The 51-year-old movie mogul has earned $1.4 billion in pre-tax income since 2005 according to the money outlet reports. His net worth is estimated to $1 billion which gives him a clear path to a future membership in the Forbes 400.

“I love when people say you come from ‘humble beginnings,’ ” the 51-year-old entertainer told Forbes. “[It] means you were poor as hell.” 

“Ownership,” he said, “changes everything.”
