Advice from Billionaire Mark Cuban to the younger generation.

Mark Cuban is worth an estimated $4 billion.According to Cuban, the best advice he’s ever received was hearing, “Today is the youngest you will ever be. Live like it.” Live like today is the youngest you’ll ever be by setting a goal, creating a process that supports it, tracking your progress, fixing what doesn’t work, and repeating what does. Matk Cuban owns the Dallas Mavericks along with a range of companies. Stars on Shark Tank. Is a killer salesperson. Hates meetings . Is a really nice guy.And is worth an estimated $4 billion.Since no one does anything worthwhile completely on their own, someone that successful has clearly received a lot of great advice along the way.So what does Cuban consider to be the best advice he’s ever gotten?

  • Today is the youngest you will ever be. Live like it.

According to Cuban, the advice:”Came from my dad. His point was that as we reach bigger numbers we tend to think we are old. Then we look back and realize just how young we were and didn’t experience things we wanted to do because we felt we were old.”It’s all a matter of perspective. Today is the youngest you will ever be. But it also feels like the oldest, because it is. You’ve never been older. But you’ll also never be younger.

  • The worst words you can say

Think of all the things you’ve wanted to do but never have. What did you do instead? If you’re like me, you can’t recall. All you know is that time is gone and whatever you did instead wasn’t even worth remembering.
Think about one thing you dreamed of doing five or 10 years ago but didn’t work to accomplish, and think about how good you’d be today at that one thing if you had. Think about all the time you wasted and can never get back. Then, starting today, push yourself to do what you hope to do, so five or 10 years from now you won’t look back with regret.Make sure you never have to say, “If I had only … “Sure, it will be hard. Sure, it will be painful. But it will be a lot less painful than how it would someday feel when you look back on what could have been but isn’t. The pain of regret is always worse than the pain of discipline and effort.

  • You can choose yourself

Once you had to wait: to be accepted, to be promoted, to be selected to somehow be “discovered.” Not anymore. Access is nearly unlimited; you can connect with almost anyone through social media. You can start your own company, create your own products, attract your own funding …you can do almost anything you want. You can do it without waiting for someone else to discover your talents. The only thing holding you back is you. And your willingness to try.

  • Start today

Every day, people let hesitation and uncertainty stop them from acting on their dreams. Think about a few of the ideas you’ve had whether for a new business, a side hustle, or a new career.
How many of those ideas could have turned out well, especially if you had given it your all?Live like today is the youngest you will ever be. Because it is. Set a goal. Create a process that supports your goal. Then ruthlessly track your progress. Fix what doesn’t work. Improve and repeat what does. Refine and revise and adapt and work hard every day to be better than you were yesterday. Soon you’ll be good. Then you’ll be great. And one day you’ll be better than anyone around you.Excellence is its own reward, but excellence also results in greater self-worth, greater fulfillment, and a greater sense of achievement, all of which lead to greater happiness. And keep you from having to look back and say, “If only I had … “
