India set to re-open schools despite 89,706 new cases of the Corona virus

The India government on Wednesday stated that it would re-open it schools for students in the upper grade levels after more than five months of closure amid a daily rise of eighty nine thousand seven hundred and six Corona virus infections.

According to India’s Health Minister in it daily report, this figure takes it second highest tally globally to more that four point three million cases.

At least 1,115 deaths have been linked to the virus within the past 24 hours bringing the total number of fatalities to about 73,890 according to an update released by the Health Ministry.

India is the second most infected country globally with a total of 4,370,128 cases of the virus ,behind only the United States which has a total number of 6,327,793 cases according to the US based John Hopkins University.

The ministry announced the partial re-opening of schools from 21 September for students between the 9th and 12th grade.

The final decision has been left to the parents who will have to provide written permission for their wards to go to school, the ministry concluded.
